The best way to describe Anna-Lize is the Afrikaans word ‘bezot’ which literally means ‘be-spotted.’ Having grown up in the floral kingdom of the Namaqualand, Anna-Lize was always surrounded by colour. And since selling her Swiss Choc Caramels in their brightly coloured dotty wrappers at markets, she has fondly become known as the ‘spotty’ lady.
These artisanal caramel treats are all homemade in Anna-Lize’s cosy kitchen. So when asked to redesign her identity and packaging, we wanted to combine her fun and playful spirit with a fresh and quirky take on the idea of a vintage kitchen. We were also asked to design an expo stand for her which won a Silver for Best Stand Design at SARCDA 2012. (Yay for us!) We had so much fun illustrating a life size kitchen that we carried this idea through to her website design as well. Best part about this project was that we got to eat caramels all day!
